Walking 2 Destiny
Walking 2 Destiny serves the growing number of young people in South Dallas that are neglected or forgotten due to the challenging social issues that they face: poverty, discrimination, abusive situations, addictions, unstable homes, and academic life.
The goal is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope to follow through on their path to destiny.
The Second Annual Walking 2 Destiny Celebration Festival, will be held at Lifeway Church on June 19, 2010, for another afternoon of food, music, smiles, and sharing.
Any Church, Temple, Mosque, or Synagogue who would like to join our continuing outreach efforts are welcome to be a part of this continuing program!
The event is a testament that communities of
diverse faiths can share in the celebration of
Life, Love, & Liberty.
Special Thanks
To all participants of the Interfaith Service Network volunteers, entertainers, and to the communities from Church of the Living God and Lifeway Church who made our First Annual Event a tremendous success.
Bishop McGriff was an inspiring man who did everything he could to be of service to his people. Walking 2 Destiny was a vision he shared with Dr. Karen Hollie.
He played a large part in making the Interfaith Service Network what it is today and his life was spent building bridges between diverse communities and empowering the disadvantaged within his own. While his loss can never be replaced, let us all honor him by continuing to serve the Oak Cliff community and
not letting the people be forgotten.
May his memory inspire others to care about making
the kind of difference he sought to make.
